Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-Nepal), Tanka Dhakal

In a dramatic turn of events, the key dissenting leader of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-Nepal), Tanka Dhakal, on Thursday announced his return to the mother party.Dhakal, under whose leadership the disgruntled leaders announced a new party, confessed to making a blunder by starting the process of new party formation and said he had given up the idea.“Realising the mistake of attempting to register a new party, we have returned to the original party with self-criticism,” said Dhakal, adding that the party is still united. Earlier, 20 Central Committee members had decided to register a new party as the Nepali Rastriya Prajatantra Party after Chairman Kamal Thapa refused to address their call for revision to the list of party’s candidates under the proportional representational category.
