    Rajesh Hamal’s status about President Bhandari’s India Trip

    President Bidya Devi Bhandari reached in New Delhi today for the 5-day State Visit to India at the invitation of President of India, Pranab Mukherjee. At Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, President Bhandari was received by Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Krishna Raj, Ambassador of Nepal to India, Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Ambassador of India to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, and other officials of both governments, said a press release issued by Nepali Embassy in Delhi. President’s delegation from Kathmandu comprises Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Sita Devi Yadav, Foreign Secretary, Shanker Das Bairagi, advisors to the President and other officials of the Government of Nepal and media persons.  The Visit is yet another important event in the continuation of high level engagements between the political leadership of the two countries. It will contribute to further consolidate close and friendly relations that exist between the two countries, added the press release.  On the first day of the Visit today, the President is scheduled to attend welcome programme organized at the Embassy of Nepal with the Nepali community living in India. She will also attend the reception dinner organized by the Ambassador of Nepal to India in her honour. Ministers and other officials of the Government of India, political leaders, diplomatic community based in New Delhi are among the invitees at the reception. Prior to the above two events, the President will be called on Sunday afternoon by Chief Minister of New Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, and leaders of various political parties of India.  The main official engagements of President Bhandari have been scheduled for Tuesday.
